Risk Disclosure
What trading actually risks, and how Trade Collective is paid. Read both.
You can lose money
Trading contracts for difference (CFDs), forex, indices and commodities carries a high level of risk. You can lose all of the money you deposit. Leverage increases both gains and losses, and it is possible to lose money faster than you expect to.
Never trade money you cannot afford to lose. Not money you need for rent, school fees, debt, or anything else with a deadline attached.
Past results say nothing about future ones
Any result shown on this site — ours, a member's, or an illustration — is history. It is not a prediction, a projection, or anything you should expect to repeat. Where we show performance we show it in R-multiples, which describe a process rather than an amount of money, and we show losing runs alongside winning ones.
Education, not advice
Trade Collective provides education. Nothing here is financial advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell any instrument. We are not a licensed financial services provider and we do not assess whether anything we teach is suitable for your circumstances. If you want advice, speak to someone licensed to give it.
We do not sell signals, we do not manage anyone's money, and we cannot access, trade or withdraw from your broker account.
How we are paid — our conflict of interest
This matters, so it is stated plainly rather than in a footnote.
Exness pays us commission on the spread you already pay when you trade. That is what funds the free courses, the community and the live sessions. If you open an account through our link and trade, we earn. If you never trade, we earn nothing.
The conflict is obvious: we are paid more when members trade more. So it is worth being equally plain about what follows from that:
- Never trade volume you would not otherwise trade in order to climb a tier, earn a ticket, or move up the leaderboard.
- Tiers and giveaways reward activity, not profit. They are not evidence that trading more is good for you, and frequently it is not.
- Using our link costs you nothing extra. It does not change your spread, and it does not change your trading conditions.
Tax
Trading profits may be taxable in South Africa. How, and at what rate, depends on your circumstances. We give general information only — consult a registered tax practitioner about your own position.
Your responsibility
Every trade you place is your decision. You are responsible for your own risk management, your own position sizing, and your own outcomes.
