Frequently Asked Questions
Plain answers about Trade Collective, the free Bootcamp, the lessons, the journal and the support available inside the app.
What is Trade Collective?
Trade Collective is a free trading-education community for South African traders. Members get structured video lessons, live sessions, a community chat room, a trading journal and practical help with building a process.
Is it really free, and what is the catch?
Yes, it is free to create an account, watch the lessons and join the live education. The business is supported by partnerships with trading platforms, which helps keep the education open without charging members a course fee.
Who is Trade Collective for?
It is for South African traders who want structured education, a calmer process and a community to learn with. Beginners are welcome, and experienced traders can use the journal, live sessions and reviews to tighten their own routines.
Do I need trading experience?
No. The course library starts with the basics and builds from there. You can join the Bootcamp, ask beginner questions and work through the lessons at your own pace.
What is the Saturday Bootcamp and when does it run?
The Saturday Bootcamp is a free live online session every Saturday at 08:00 SAST. Chris and Keegan slow the lesson down, answer questions and focus on process while the market is quiet.
How do I join a live session?
Create a free account, sign in, and open the Live section a few minutes before the session starts. The Saturday Bootcamp is online, and you can join from your phone.
What do the 4 courses cover?
The four courses are Basics, Core, Models, Psychology. Together they cover chart language, sessions, market structure, practical models and the psychology behind following your own plan.
How long does it take to complete the lessons?
The library has 23 video lessons. You can watch them quickly, but the better approach is to take notes, practise the concepts, ask questions in live sessions and review your trades as you go.
What is the trading journal and how do I use it?
The trading journal helps you review your own process. Upload your MetaTrader 5 history report, and the journal builds a trade record and scores each trade so you can see patterns in your behaviour and risk control.
Do I need MT5?
You do not need MT5 to watch the lessons or join the Bootcamp. MT5 is useful for the trading journal because the journal is built by uploading your MetaTrader 5 history report.
Can I join outside South Africa?
Yes. Trade Collective is built for South African traders and uses SAST for live times, but the education is online and can be watched from outside South Africa.
Is this financial advice?
No. Trade Collective provides education and community support only. Nothing on the site is personal financial advice, and we do not assess what is suitable for your circumstances.
Will I make money?
No one can promise that. Most retail traders lose, and trading leveraged products can result in the loss of all your capital. We teach process, risk control, journalling and discipline so you can make better-informed decisions.
How do I get help?
Inside the app you can open a support ticket for the team, ask questions in the community, and use the AI assistant Gizelle for guidance around the platform and learning path.
Is my data safe?
We collect only what we need to run the education, community, journal and support experience. Read our Privacy Notice for how personal information is handled.
How do I delete my account?
Sign in and open Delete account (also reachable from Message preferences). It takes a minute, and your Exness account and money are not affected. See our Privacy Notice for what we keep.
