Entry is free. No deposit, no trading, nothing to buy.
No purchase, no deposit, no trading
This is the rule everything else follows from. Entry into the monthly giveaway is a free Trade Collective account. You do not need to deposit money, open a broker account, place a single trade, or spend anything at all — to enter or to win.
Trading more does not improve your chance of winning. Trading less does not reduce it. The two are unconnected, on purpose.
Who can enter
- You must be 18 or older.
- You must hold a valid, registered Trade Collective account in your own name.
- Employees and contractors of 2GS Trading (Pty) Ltd, and members of their immediate households, cannot enter.
- If a promotional competition of this kind is restricted or prohibited where you live, you are not eligible.
How to enter
Create a free account. That is the whole entry mechanic. Every member with an eligible account at the close of the month is entered into that month's draw.
One entry per person per draw. One account per person. Duplicate or fraudulent accounts are removed before the draw, and we may remove an entry where we reasonably believe the rules have been broken.
Entry for each month closes at 23:59 SAST on the last day of that calendar month.
This draw is not the leaderboard
Trade Collective also runs a monthly leaderboard. Members who have linked a broker account earn tickets based on the volume they trade, and those tickets set their rank. The leaderboard has its own prizes.
That is a different thing and it is not this draw. The leaderboard is for members already trading under Trade Collective; the giveaway described on this page is open to every member, free, and is decided by chance alone. Nothing you do in the leaderboard changes your odds here.
How the winner is picked
After entry closes, one winner is selected at random from all eligible entries, by lot. Every eligible entry has the same chance. No skill, judgement or performance is involved.
The draw takes place live on the first Saturday after the month closes, during our Saturday session. We keep a record of each draw — the entry list, the date, and the result — for three years, and a competent authority may request it.
The prize
The prize for the current month is shown on the prizes page inside your account. It changes month to month.
The prize is not transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash, and no alternative is offered. If the exact item becomes unavailable, we may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. We arrange delivery at our cost; where we cannot deliver to your location we will agree a reasonable alternative with you.
Any tax arising from a prize is the winner's responsibility.
If you win
We contact the winner by email, at the address on their account, within five business days of the draw. That is why the address on your account needs to be one you actually read.
A winner has 14 days to respond and confirm delivery details. If we have had no reply after 14 days, the prize is redrawn from the remaining eligible entries.
Your information
We use the information already on your account to run the draw. Nothing extra is collected for it, and entering does not change how your information is handled — see our Privacy Policy.
We may publish a winner's first name and province to show the draw happened. If you would rather we did not, tell us when we contact you and we will not.

Changes and cancellation
We may amend these rules or cancel a draw where we have to — for legal reasons, or because something outside our control makes it impossible to run fairly. If that happens we will say so on this page and tell entrants by email. Any change applies to draws that have not yet closed, never retrospectively to one already run.
Trading risk still applies
The giveaway has nothing to do with trading, but it sits alongside a product that does. Trading leveraged products carries a high level of risk and can result in the loss of all your capital.
